A Florida man has been jailed for running over and killing a family of ducklings, unofficially earning himself the title of Absolute Bastard of the Year in the process.
Jason Scott Falbo II was jailed for a year for running over the nine ducklings with a lawnmower.
The resident who reported the incident, Boyd Jentzsch, said he had been feeding the family of ducks just before it happened. He went back to his house where he saw Falbo driving towards the ducklings.
The police report states he “ran directly over the ducklings and body parts were scattered all over the lawn”.
When confronted he then reportedly smiled, and backed up his mower over the ducklings.
The police report quoted Falbo as saying:
They were in my path, so I just kept mowing.
Falbo’s employer, ironically called Reliable Lawn Care, have said it was his first day on the job, but Jentzsch claims he’s seen him working in the neighbourhood before.
